In Loving Memory
William N. Rojas "Paw"
May 16, 1922 - Sept. 13, 2005
William N. Rojas, 83 yrs old, native of Lafitte and resident of Venice
Louisiana past away on Sept. 13, 2005. Visitation was held on Friday,
Sept. 16, 2005 at the West Side Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. to funeral
time at West Lawn Cemetery.
At 18 years old, he married his wife who was 15 yrs old. They celebrated
their 65th wedding anniversary November 3, 2004. They had three
children, two daughters and one son.
"Paw", as most people knew him, was the kind of person who would help
anyone in need. He believed in providing for his family. He was a loving
husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He
loved working and was a very hard worker. With only a third grade
education, he was a successful businessman and owner of his own
companies. He ran tug boat and crew boat businesses, was a commercial
fisherman and carpenter.
His greatest accomplishment, with the help of his son, was the invention
of the Skimmers which revolutionized the commercial fishing industry. He
provided blue prints on his invention to all those who asked for only
the costs of printing. He was a giver.
William N. Rojas is survived by his wife, Alexina "Margary" C. Rojas
formerly of Venice, LA, now Lafayette, LA; daughter, Sandra R. Callahan;
son, William "Bonzo" Rojas; and daughter Wendy Rojas. He was a
grandfather to 14 and a great-grandfather to 13. Paw will be missed and
his memory will be treasured.
